WHAT IS THE SECRET BEHIND ALL YOUR SHOWS TO BE SO SUCCESSFUL AND UNIQUE?

I make it a point from the time I get the offer to do my show, even if I have to do only 1 show in a month or in six months to give my 100 percent, I do a thorough research of my work in and out until I am fully satisfied, because if you are not satisfied yourself you can never satisfy the people. I try my best to give something new every time to my audience as a fashion choreographer. Foundation of the planning is very important REST ALL FALLS IN PLACE ITSELF.

ARE YOU SATISFIED IN NORTHEAST?

​

I am very satisfying now to be in northeast, when I started in1995, there was nothing in northeast, people use to tell me what is fashion designing? I worked very hard to spread the fashion culture in northeast and today I am proud of what I have done although still we have miles to go. People very often had told I was wasting my time in northeast but now I am very happy that they know it that I am doing good in northeast as well as outside northeast.

ALMOST THE WHOLE FASHION INDUSTRY OF NORTHEAST IS OCCUPIED BY YOUR STUDENTS BOTH IN MODELING AND FASHION DESIGNING?

 

Yes, I guide them very well to start it as career and business ,I have help many students to open their own workshops, many students from other designing institute become my student for specialization , regarding the modeling course I make it very tough for them because I trained them for the national platform and as you know many of my students had made it to Gladrags mega model and manhunt contest, Mr India and FEMINA Miss India contest, Sananda Tilotama contest in Kolkata , Metropolitan model hunt in Delhi and kingfisher model hunt in mumbai.

NAME SOME OF YOUR STUDENTS, WHO YOU ARE PROUD OF IN MODELING?

Although I am proud of all my students but if I have to name them they are Rishi kaushik-mr india of 2002, Rashmi das and M.Singh ,Gladrags finalist 2006,Dipti Devi –Gladrags mega model finalist 2005, Sujata Das- femina miss india , 2008 ,Priyanka sandilya Miss sananda tilotama 2006,Somit ,Sanju and Biplab ,Mr northeast and Assam winner-2009 and many more.

YOUR ADVICE TO UPCOMING MODELS AND FASHION DESIGNERS?

My advice to the upcoming designers would be work with proper planning because if the foundation of a building is not strong it can fall at any time ,do not be hurry to create a collection just to get a quick limelight  but work in such a way that your work should be remembered even after death, designers of today do so less homework that is the reason people so not remember them after the show regarding the models too just doing a modeling course won’t help them models specially should work on their body because that is where they lack in northeast and having the right attitude on stage. Models are just like good packaging of a product, proper and attractive packaging with the right ingredients inside and more lasting in the market.
